Packages

{So there is this man that travels to Tokyo from Houston and brings Sister Reeves packages from her family! Here's her getting her package with her companion.}

June 24th

Dear Family and friends!

Hi, writing a day late because we just got our washer and dryer and
fridge today so it made the most sense to have p day today.
our house is 3 stories tall. It has two study rooms upstairs, living area,
kitchen and bathroom on the second floor and a sleeping room down
stairs. It's way nice and we are so lucky.

Bratwurst/Pretzel Dog          Sister Kakimoto

So... Really funny. We don't have keys to the church yet and the
building is locked so we connected to the internet from outside..
Luckily it has stopped raining for the time being.

Last day at Baby Eikaiwa

This last week has been crazy! We taught 4 lessons on Tuesday and so
we were rushing back and forth between all our appointments and trying
to make time for finding and meal times in between. It was wonderful
to be able to teach and meet with everyone!

Nemoto: really cool story. Sister Feist and I met her during my second
transfer. She has lived 2 blocks from the church for 15 years and has
seen so many missionaries but never talked to any of them before until
we said hello and complimented her cute bag. We got to talking about
religion and she mentioned that she knew some about Christianity from
singing in the messiah and studying on her own. She wanted to study
the bible with us so we exchanged numbers... We weren't able to
contact her for the rest of the transfer. Then... Monday night I felt
like I wanted to call Nemoto. I hadn't seen her again since our first
meeting on the street. I called her up and she said she could meet us
the next morning! She said she had always been curious but this was
her first time in the church. We gave her a tour of the church and
taught her of the restoration. She loved it and loved the Book of
Mormon and agreed to come to church and meet for another lesson to
continue studying! New investigator!

At McDonald's with Hara San

Hara: we had met her a few weeks before. She belongs to a Christian
church with a really long complicated name. She said she had met
missionaries 7 years before and actually had a Book of Mormon, had
been to church a few times and taken lessons. She gave us her contact
information. We found out she lives in the north mission area but she
wanted to meet us again before agreeing to meet with the sisters in
her area. We met and she explained how she new it was meant to be that
we met her that day. She really felt that it was God's love. But she
said she didn't want to learn more about our religion. She tried to
give us some books about her religion and teach us about her beliefs.
It was actually really interesting but way sad that she had recognized
God's guidance but still decided to not follow it.

Bi Shin: it was actually way cool that we got to meet her. I hadn't
seen her since my first transfer except for one day when we had an
appointment and she showed up and then quickly got awkward and said
she had to go home after we hadn't said much more than hello, how are
you? But anyway she came and we studied about faith. She said her
Christian friends are so happy because they have faith even if they
don't have lots of money. She wants faith but says she isn't
progressing and knows it's because she isn't reading and praying, she
has prayed before and hasn't felt any different but also admitted that
when she prays she doesn't believe she will get an answer. We
testified of how we know God is real and encouraged her to pray
sincerely and study the scriptures at home and meet with us often to
strengthen her faith.

End of the transfer, celebratory croissant taiyaki!

Kakimoto: she is a less active we have been working with, she is so
nice and awesome! We met in the chapel and had the sacrament table set
up with the tablecloth. We reviewed what she read in 2nephi 31-32
about enduring to the end.. What we do after entering the gate by
baptism. We bore testimony of the cleansing power of the atonement and
how partaking of the sacrament weekly reminds us of our covenants,
helps us to receive forgiveness and gives us hope that even though we
make mistakes daily we can become clean. It was an amazing lesson!

Wednesday: last day in kichijoji! We taught baby eikaiwa and normal
eikaiwa. And ran with the new missionaries and went with them on their
first dendou experience! We had a lesson with Amy. She has tons of
interest. We finished teaching the plan of salvation and she loved the
idea of living with her family forever. She said a really heartfelt
prayer. Love her!

Bi Shin and Sister Winkler after the lesson

Thursday: transfer day! Woke up at 5 and went to the train station. It
was so weird to be on a train by myself! We made it to Hibarigaoka and
went to the apartment and studied. Then we went finding! We went to a
fun park and met this cute lady, Jennifer on the way. She is from the
Philippines and is our first potential investigator for the area! We
got super lost on he way back and it was hot and we were exhausted...
But we just kept wandering and met tons of people on the way. We met
this young couple from the Philippines, Genki and Regine. They really
wanted to be our friends. We exchanged contact info and gave them a
flier with a map to the church and information about eikaiwa. We
finally made it back and then headed out for district dinner! Way cool
that our district leader is all about district unity. We each shared
our stories for what brought us on a mission and it was way cool to
hear about each person's decision to serve.

Friday: moving day! We had district meeting in the morning. We planned
all sorts of unique ways that we can work together as a district to
teach investigators and to serve and find together. We want to do fun
activities like a free lemonade stand or sidewalk chalk in front of
the church, teaching about the importance of families. Church tours
may be included ;) we also talked about working with the ward to plan
an activity for the summer that would be fun to invite friends to. We
spent pretty much all day moving but I made my goal of finding the
station and the church from our new house!

Saturday: my luggage and bags arrived at the new house! After study
time we headed out for some finding and to visit a less active whom
the bishop asked us to work with. I have the easiest bike in the world
to transfer. It has like just a couple parts to remove to take off the
front wheel and put it in the bike bag and thet he bike itself is super
light. I pulled the bike out to put together and realized I was
missing one piece! We decided to make our finding activity be a walk
to the bike shop. We make it there and they don't have the piece
because... Well... I didn't buy my bike there. But we met tons of
people on the way and also realized we didn't have the correct phone
number or address of the less active. We left early for stake
conference in kichijoji to try to get the part from the store where I
bought my bike. We go and the man just gives it to me for free! Also I
was way proud that I could explain my problem in Japanese. Haha
miracles! We grabbed dinner real quick and went to conference. It was
fun to see ward members and companions from kichijoji and the
conference was way good, the emphasis was member missionary work and
family history. Hastening of the work of salvation! On the way to the
conference I talked to this lady on the train. She was complimenting
my Japanese and asking if I could also write. I told her I didn't
really know characters and couldn't really read either unless there
was furigana over the kanji, but I told her about a book that I read every
day! I showed her the Book of Mormon and we got talking about church.
She had so many questions. She asked how our church was different. She
asked about Joseph smith and asked if it was an American church and
how many people there were like me who go about explaining these
things. She was curious but not interested in learning it for herself.
She wouldn't accept the Book of Mormon but I invited her to attend
church if she had the chance. It was so cool to teach the entire
message of the restoration just on a quick train ride! On the way home
I sat by a lady on the bus. She works in kichijoji but lives one
station away from Hibarigaoka. She has met tons of missionaries in
kichijoji and they have invited her to church often. She can't go to
church because she works on Sundays. We had a wonderful conversation
and talked about her family and her hobbies. It was cool to be one of
the contacts that woman has with missionaries... Average of 7-8 before
they agree to learn more! She said she hoped we would meet on that bus
route again.

Lesson with Nemoto San

Sunday: stake conference in the morning! We got to watch it in
English. We heard from elder walker, sister Oscarson, the presiding
bishop and elder Christofferson. Elder walker and the presiding bishop
spoke in Japanese so it was double translated. Way interesting. It
was a good meeting and fun to understand every word of church! We had
our ward missionary coordination meeting afterwards and our ward
mission leader is awesome! We traveled back to Hibarigaoka and
submitted our stats for the week at the church. As we were leaving,
Genki and Regine showed up! They just wanted to see if we were there
and wanted to see the church. We invited them for a church tour. Way
funny though cause we have never actually been to church in that
building so we were discovering it with them! We talked about the
importance of families and how God is our Heavenly Father and how we
can make promises with him through baptism. We ended the tour in the
chapel and taught them how to pray. We prayed together and talked
about the spirit. They want to meet again and come to various
activities! Hopefully they will become investigators. One problem..
Regine doesn't really know Japanese. Just Tagalog! But they are so
awesome! Little miracles!

Monday: we were able to find kagata shimai's house! We left her a note
and our phone number and she called us back! Another miracle!
Apparently missionaries haven't been able to contact her for a long
time but maybe having two brand new missionaries is less threatening!
We met some fun ladies at the park but the finding was slow... It was
a quiet day and not many people wanted to talk to us. We were able to
set up an appointment with a member to do a role play lesson this
week. And she invited us over for lunch, too! So sweet. I was happy
that she was nice because another member we called was way blunt and
seemed put out by us wanting to meet her and implied that my Japanese
was rough and asked if I was the senior or junior companion... She
didn't actually end up agreeing to help us. It was rough and I felt
sort of down about it, but it's not about what others think. The
question is: is God pleased with me? Am I doing my best? Yes!

Tuesday: first day of ten week turnaround! Awesome training! I'm way
excited. And p day. We had some yummy Indian curry and went on a
dollar store shopping spree!

Love y'all!

June 16th

Weekly review:
Tuesday: we got all our study time in and were way productive. We met
our goal for 25 meaningful conversations! We made really cute handouts
for our progressing investigators to encourage them to read the Book
of Mormon or prepare for their baptism :)
Wednesday: my 6 month mark as a missionary! Can you believe it?! kokan
with Tada Shimai! She doesn't know any English and doesn't really like
Americans but it was really fun. :) we taught a lesson to a recent
convert and then had a lesson with Amy! We started teaching the plan
of salvation and Amy loved it and wants to learn more!
Thursday: we had a way inspiring zone meeting. Our mission has a new
goal: in addition to having at least 10 meaningful conversations daily
and trying to make contact with less active members, we are to teach
15 lessons each week! This will be really hard because we really only
teach 5 on a good week, but the lessons will include those to
investigators, less actives, recent converts, members, and role plays
in zone meetings and companion studies. The mission is also starting a
program called the 10 week turnaround where we will have 2 hours of
role plays each week training on 10 different aspects of the work. I'm
excited to receive more training and improve my language and teaching
skills and improve as a missionary! My favorite part of the meeting
was thinking of our missionary activities as a rain cloud. Things like
the language, companion problems, getting new investigators, talking
to everyone, etc. are the rain drops. The cloud is love. If love is
our focus, then everything else works out and falls into place. We
went out to work after the meeting and that one point made such a
difference in everything. Our conversations with others went smoother
as we focused on loving them individually, being ourselves, and
getting to know them  rather than focusing on inviting everyone we see
or trying to get a specific number of contacts for the day. We visited
some less active members homes and then went to sports night. I was
assigned as the new sports night photographer but don't worry I still
participated. We had an all girls team for volleyball and I made
contact with the ball so many times. #teambarbie #mostimproved
Friday: Friday the 13th :)
We went to Facebook training with our zone. We learned how we can use
social media, technology and online resources to focus on our purpose
and hasten the work. It started pouring rain after the training but we
biked home anyway... And got soaked! We decided to take the bus
instead of bike to Yamamoto shimai's house just in case it started
pouring again. It never rained but we felt like the people we met on
the bus and by foot were in our path for a reason. Our contacts were
all really natural and meaningful!
Saturday: kokan with sister Merstrand! Seriously the best day ever. We
had a lot of fun at kids eikaiwa... Our friend Natsumi taught me how
to do origami and we helped Koharu chan make a Father's Day card for
her dad in English. We used maps and found Tanabu shimai's and the
Sato family's house and left notes! We met the most amazing people
too.. This girl at the park had been to church with her lds friend
before and we met a family who had been to the open house of the
temple in Tokyo. President Wada taught us that it takes on average
about 8 contacts with the church or with missionaries before people
usually accept the invitation to learn more. It is fun to be one of
the first of those contacts. We were so happy and felt so successful
as we talked with so many people and were able to show our love and
testify of our purpose and of God's love. Sister Merstrand set off a
super loud alarm in the bathroom as she was trying to flush the
toilet. It was hilarious!
Sunday: pinko came to church! She apparently doesn't know Chinese
either and doesn't have a language that she speaks fluently so we
aren't exactly sure how we can teach her but we love her so much! She
has such a kind heart and such a desire to follow Christ. Her son has
a baptismal date for next month. She still doesn't understand the
priesthood and why she would need to receive baptism again but she
said she would think of being baptized on the same day as her son. We
did a role play lesson with a member after church. She is so strong
and faithful... She is the only member in her family and really wants
to share the gospel with them. We taught the plan of salvation and
asked her to pretend to be her little sister as we role played. We
challenged her to give the lesson pamphlet to someone in her family.
Today: zone p day! We went bowling in Fuchu and I didn't get last
place. My score was 60... Beat more than one elder! Woop! Our friend
Mizoe came and had lots of fun :)
And... We got transfer calls! Ahh! I'm transferring! I'm opening an
area (Hibarigaoka sisters B) and finishing training a transfer 2
missionary! Her name is Sister Bryson. :) I'm really excited and also
really nervous to be opening an area and have a teaching pool of zero
and be a senior companion. But the Hibarigaoka ward is apparently
amazing! And I will have a Japanese sister in my apartment who can
help me read kanji ;) haha
President Wada really believes I can do this! I'm scared, but he says
he is always on my side and always a phone call away.
I love y'all! Happy Father's Day :)
Leaving a note for Sister Tanabu

Ipad/Facebook training

Lunch with Sister Wada, the Yamashita's, and Sister Tada

We visited Yamamoto Shimai and she had these out on the table because
I told her the time before that sunflowers are my favorite :)

June 9th

Hey y'all it's rainy season! Rain every day for the next month :) it's
nice and humid... Just like home!

Review of the week...
Tuesday: We got to go to the temple! Happy day :) and then we went to
dinner at the Matsushima family home. Remember them from my first
transfer? Don't worry I took a picture if the table this time! Soooo
much food and Sister Matsushima is just the cutest ever. She must have
cooked all day and just kept bringing more and more dishes to the
table and kept telling us to keep eating!! Good thing it was
delicious!

Wednesday: Sister Tachibana came to Kichijoji on exchanges! She is so
adorable. She is really nice and spoke really easy Japanese to me all
day. We had a busy day together. I basically had to teach baby English
class all by myself. It was really hard cause the kids are kinda crazy
and the moms don't really do anything about it. Also the cd we use for
singing and dancing was missing so I had to sing and dance all by
myself. Definitely ended class a little early. We taught two lessons
together to Pinko and then Amy! We are making some exciting progress
with those two investigators. We are encouraging Pinko to read the
Book of Mormon at home in Chinese so she can understand it better even
though she says it's different from the Japanese one and really wants
to read in Japanese. I definitely believe everyone should be able to
receive the gospel in their native language. Amy asked why the
missionaries are always so happy. We haven't really taught her many
lessons but we are hoping that some doctrine will spark more of her
interest and she will be able to find out how the gospel of Christ can
bring more happiness into her life. Then... We were in charge of
English class!

Thursday: Sister Merstrand and I spent the day together while our
companions were at mission leadership council. We had so much fun out
finding together. We talked to tons of people and it started raining
And we didn't have umbrellas but we didn't give up! But we were pretty
wet when we got back. Then we had sports night... And I for real made
like so many baskets... I'm getting really good ;) haha

Photo booth pics

Friday: And another exchange.... With Sister Clark. It was pouring
rain and even with umbrellas we were literally soaked all day. We met
this cute lady from Colombia while we were handing out fliers at the
station. She uses a cane and asked us to pray for her so she can salsa
dance again. Too bad I literally forgot all the Spanish I ever learned
in high school. But.. We got her number and hopefully can get to know
her better and I can relearn Spanish and share the gospel with her!

Croissant Taiyaki is always our reward for handwork

Saturday: We taught kids English and there were a few new students..
It went really well! And then... Last minute exchange because Sister
Wells wasn't feeling well. So I went to teach two lessons with Sister
Merstrand. We taught about the restoration and the Book of Mormon to
Akiko San and then taught English to Sister Inagaki's friend, Yuko. It
was way fun! And then it was the ward party.... It was a cook off and
karaoke night. Our friend Moeka came! The karaoke was so cute! And the
primary children's curry was the winning dish:)

Me and a wall... cool, huh?

Sunday: We showed up to the church for ward mission council on Sunday
and there was a lady standing outside. She was holding a small
notepad, and a Book of Mormon. We weren't sure if she was a member or
not or what her story was. We tried to talk to her and she didn't
respond to anything we said. She was writing on her notepad so we
assumed she was deaf. We took her into the chapel and taught a lesson
in the church. We typed on our iPads and she wrote back to us about
half of the time. She had prayed once before with the missionaries and
was really moved. She had also read the Book of Mormon in Moroni. She
wanted to know where else she should read. She wanted to know if there
was any free housing provided by the church. We read with her about
how God can help her. She believes in God and believes that he can
help her. She asked us to pray with her. She teared up. Half way
through the lesson we realized that she is not deaf so we could
actually speak to her. She randomly got up and left the church after I
asked her to write something again because I couldn't read it... Turns
out she is a former investigator in our area. She isn't mute... She is
schizophrenic and just sometimes doesn't talk. She had a baptismal
date at one point but then sort of fell off the face of the earth. It
was such an interesting experience but definitely really spiritual. I
could really feel Gods love for her.

SO many selfies with Sister Merstrand at the ward party

Moeka and Pinko came to church and stayed for the pot luck afterwards.
They are building such great friendships with ward members. It's so
happy :)
We went out finding afterwards and had a goal to invite 35 people and
we invited exactly 35 people! Little miracles every day!

Soup from Mori Shimai!

Favorite scripture of the week:
Mosiah 2:20-22
20 I say unto you, my brethren, that if you should render all the
thanks and praise which your whole soul has power to possess, to that
God who has created you, and has kept and preserved you, and has
caused that ye should rejoice, and has granted that ye should live in
peace one with another--

21 I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from
the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you
breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will,
and even supporting you from one moment to another--I say, if ye
should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be
unprofitable servants.

22 And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his
commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his
commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary
from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his
commandments he doth bless you and prosper you.

God has literally given us everything we have and everything we are.
He just expects us to serve him by being obedient. We are eternally
indebted to him as he continues to show love and mercy and bless us as
we exercise faith in him. I owe my Lord everything. My heart, my
might, mind and strength. I'm grateful for this opportunity to serve
him.

I love you all! Have a happy week :)

Can you tell we are soaked?!

Rainy day Dendo at the park!

Monday, June 2, 2014

June 2nd

this week summer began. it is so hot and the humidity hasn't even
gotten crazy yet. but I'm not miserable. we are enjoying the sunshine!
but I realized I mostly brought winter clothes...

we spent our week with goals to work with and strengthen the members.
our ward has interesting history and isn't super united so it's been
great to get to know the individuals and visit less active members.
one of my favorite visits from this week was with Masui kyodai. he was
the bishop of the kichijoji ward ten years back. we stopped by his
home and he was so happy to see missionaries. he spoke pretty much
perfect English. we spoke of his conversion and he shared some stories
from his mission. We wondered how his English got to be so fluent. He
explained that he was enrolled in the English course in the premortal
existence and half way through the course he got sent to Japan! I told
him that I must have taken Japanese before coming to earth. He agreed
that I definitely learned Japanese before. This is perfect... I'm
already fluent in Japanese.. I just have to remember what I learned.
And then find all my friends that knew me in heaven and knew I was
taking Japanese so that I could come share the gospel with them! Haha
he is such a great man with a great sense of humor. He is mostly kept
from activity in the church because of his wife but he has hope that
he will be able to return if he endures this trial right now.

We tried to visit this other less active lady. We followed the address
and ended up at an assisted living place where you have to call the
person you are visiting so they can let you in but we didn't know her
room number. We decided to play "find the kanji". We looked at the
post office boxes to find which sets of kanji could possibly be the
ones for her name. Luckily her name is really easy... Futaki. 二木 (two
trees). We were able to find her room number and let in by the people
who work there after the doors opened and then closed three or four
times for us. Yeah, we were a little confused. The doors opened but no
one said we could come in and we didn't know if we had to put on
slippers. Turns out she wasn't home but we felt like it was a miracle.
We left the conference edition of the liahona and will try to visit
again this week!

Talent show in Machida with Moeka. She was the STAR!

So there is this other lady we've been working with... She called us
this week and invited us to dinner. She asked what time was good for
us and we settled on 6 on Saturday. We show up late and really hungry
after biking to find her apartment with the wrong address. She lets us
in and proceeds to tell us that she would love to take us to dinner
sometime. She asked us when would be a good time but kept telling us
that those days weren't our p day and we were too busy. Anyway, we
taught a lesson and then she gave us some grape juice.

We had lunch with Saito Shimai on Friday. She is my favorite ever. She
is so sweet and loves the missionaries so much. She is a beginner at
English but loves throwing in the random English words she knows. She
is totally understanding that we aren't perfect at Japanese and she
knows we are trying so hard. We went over to her house and ate
delicious food and had the best conversations. She is a return
missionary and super strong member so she really understands our
purpose. Our conversations were focused on strengthening the ward, our
investigators, less actives, and other aspects of the work. She came
to an investigator fireside and really fellow shipped our friends. She
is so amazing and Christlike!

The lesson this week in relief society was about charity and loving
others the way Christ does. We split into groups and shared
experiences and thoughts about how we have strengthened relationships
through service, how we can love someone who is hard to like at first,
etc. after the lesson I saw sister Hathaway speaking with a sister in
the ward who had criticized my Japanese before. Because of the lesson,
I felt like I needed to join the conversation and try hard to love
those who think I'm an idiot. I walked over and pretty quickly she
begins to make rude remarks about my Japanese. It was awkward and she
pretended that she liked my outfit. But I'm going to pray for her :)
any ideas of how to love and serve her?

Buddhist temple (:

On Sunday we had just a couple hours for some finding. It was hot hot
hot. But we made it fun. We started with a goal of talking to 100
people. With each conversation we counted down. Time ran out and we
still had 77 more people to invite but our outrageous goal kept us
motivated.

Saturday we traveled an hour by train and 30 min walking in the
blazing sun to the Machida stake center for a talent show. Our
investigator, Moeka, performed and sang the climb by Miley Cyrus. She
did so well and performed so confidently! There were tons of people
there and each act was seriously amazing! One of the best talent shows
I've been to. One of the performers was Jett Edwards who apparently is
a Grammy winner. He was an absolute hit. One of the songs was called
reach out and take a hand. He explained in English that we were to all
stand up and make a circle and reach out to people we didn't know and
follow him in a dance. Of course no one understood it because there
was no translation but sister wells and I got up and initiated for the
audience to join us. It ended up being so fun dancing with everyone!
The show was a defining moment for Moeka. She loved that we would
support her and come to the show just for her. She loves that we
always welcome her at church activities even though she is not a
member. She has so many friends from all the activities and just had
so many people to talk to after the show especially because she was
the star! President Wada gave us a ride back to kichijoji. It had been
awhile since I had been in a car. I got so car sick. It didn't help
that we went on the craziest highway. We had to drive through shibuya
which is like huge and crowded so the Japanese are genius and built
the freeway underneath the city. It spirals down into the ground at
high speeds until it becomes this huge tunnel that goes on forever.
When you exit you drive up the steepest hill and back into the
sunlight. Crazy. But we made it back just in time to hop on our bikes
and head to a less actives home.

Playing Hokey Pokey in English Class

Earlier in the week we met with a referral from the elders! They met
this lady who was super good at English and wanted to do English
lessons.  We met with her in the morning. As we began to teach we
explained the deal: 30 min English 30 min gospel, she wasn't super
excited but she said she couldn't refuse it because it was Free. When
the 30 min of English were up she promptly reminded us that it was now
our time to talk about the church. We were just going to introduce to
BOM to her but then she had tons of questions for us! We mostly taught
lesson one through answering her questions.  We tried to end right
after our thirty minutes but she said it was ok if we continued
because she wanted her questions answered. She is not religious and
says she can't believe in God but she said this was our chance to
persuade her. She didn't accept the Book of Mormon because she
admitted she would never read it because she has lots of other books
she would rather read. We asked her to pray at the end of the lesson
and she quickly agreed! It was a really good lesson and we set up an
appointment with her for Friday with intentions to meet every
Wednesday
and Friday for six weeks. We also had plans to cook together
and learn some Japanese dishes. Our friendship was short lived.  On
Thursday she called the Elders and told them she didn't believe that
religion and English should be taught together so she didn't want to
meet with us anymore. We called to confirm our appointment and she
said she couldn't meet but wouldn't tell us why. She just told us to
"ask the boys". We were pretty bummed but maybe she will change her
mind!

We also had a lesson with Pinko on Wed. Oh my her lessons are
always... Interesting. It is super frustrating because she does not
understand English or Japanese hardly at all but she wants to study in
Japanese not Chinese. We had to explain things over and over and we
don't understand her responses so it is always a mess.  We got pretty
frustrated and we couldn't feel the spirit so we ended it but we are
going to do it again next week and try again. Never thought I would
have this kind of language barrier. :)

Thursday was a white day! We had lots of time to dendo! Our favorite
thing ever! :) but really it was great! We were on our way to find a
potential investigator's house when we happened upon tokyo Women's
Christian university! We didn't even know it was there! This is where
we met our friend Airi.  She is so cute and wants to learn English so
of course we invited her to eikaiwa and switched phone numbers. And
then we parted ways. We were texting her the next day and decided to
invite her to president Wada's questions of the soul fireside. She
came! And had a great experience. She was able to meet a few of the
single adults and lots of the other members and missionaries really
reached out to her. We will see her again this week at eikaiwa and
sports night.

The Sato family took at the missionaries out to dinner!

Scripture of the week: Alma 6:6
Fast and pray for those who don't know God. We are a part of a
marvelous work and a wonder... Bringing the gospel forth to all
nations and people! A gospel of peace and happiness! The work is
hastening in the Lord's time and we are witnesses and builders of the
kingdom :) how cool is that?!

Anyway... Love ya! Miss ya!
